Coby TFDVD7051 7-Inch Tablet Style Portable DVD/CD/MP3 Player

Coby TFDVD7051 7-Inch Tablet Style Portable DVD/CD/MP3 PlayerCoby is a lesser-known brand, but the TFDVD7051 stands out from the crowd in many respects: not least the tablet style, and the host of bundled accessories that you typically have to purchase seperately with some of its rivals. And it's attractively priced to boot, perhaps because it's less well-known than its competitors!

The unit is capable of playing DVDs (including writeables and rewriteables), CDs, MP3 disks and photo disks. It features the usual anti-skip circuitry you'd expect, decent battery life and good sound and picture quality for the price. But it really excels in its features and accessories:
  • AV outputs so you can use it with a home theatre system
  • AV input so you can use it to view other sources like video games, camera output etc
  • two headphone jacks and sets of headphones
  • remote control
  • AC and car charger leads
  • headrest bag for in-car viewing
  • cassette connector to pipe sound through your car stereo
The TFDVD7051 overall gets very good reviews, with the main complaint being somewhat less than helpful customer service if something goes wrong. But you should be able to mitigate this by purchasing from a reputable retailer with a good exchange and refund policy, just in case you get a dud.

Reviews

I looked all over for portable DVD players and will say that nothing could compete with this one when considering the price and quality of product.

It started right up, played without a hitch, has a nice picture, remote works like a charm, headphones both work and inserting them (in either outlet) cuts off the speakers (plus)...

...when you turn off the player with a movie in view it saves the place so when you hit the switch it comes right back on to the spot you left off!

Great product for price point. Decent sound and works great with all DVDs.

...It did not work. Like other reviews have said, all it did was click. We opened the DVD player up and the laser reader was stuck, would not budge, and, thus, clicked.
